The 68th Congress of the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF) was held in Dresden, Germany, from August 16 through 19, 2012. The topic was Public Finance, Public Debt and Global Recovery.

The scientific committee for this congress was chaired by Jack Mintz (University of Calgary, Canada) and Michael Smart (University of Toronto, Canada).

The local organising committee consisted of Marcel Thum (chairman), Alexander Kemnitz and Georg Milbradt (Dresden University of Technology). Dresden University of Technology was also the hosting university.
