International Institute of Public Finance

GIZ Public Policy Award 2015


In connection with the 2015 Annual Congress of the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF) in Dublin, Ireland, IIPF and GIZ – on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU) – are pleased to announce the GIZ Public Policy Award 2015.
The award recognizes and supports research discussing issues of relevance for developing countries.
                           
Two papers, out of all papers selected for presentation at the 2015 Annual Congress of the IIPF on the topic of “Taxation in a Global Economy”, were rewarded. Their selection was headed by an Award Committee, consisting of the Chairs of the Scientific Committee of the Congress, one IIPF Board member and a GIZ representative.

The winners of the GIZ Public Policy Awards 2015 are:

 

Adeniyi Jimmy Adedokun (McPherson University, Nigeria)
for his paper entitled
“Foreign Aid, Governance And Economic Growth In Sub-Sahara African Countries: Does A Cap Fits All?”

   

Riel Franzsen, Samuel S. Jibao and Adams Tandorswefa Tommy (all University of Pretoria and African Tax Institute, South Africa) for their paper entitled “Property Taxation in Sierra Leone: Current Practices, Performance and Options for Reform”
